OmniTRAX Logistics Services started using R.I.M.S. in 2014. We needed a system that could manage our growing transload business, and after evaluating several products, we decided to go with ATI’s Railcar Inventory Management System.

R.I.M.S. does everything we need it to do, and more. It tracks and maintains all our transload activity, and handles all our inventory management needs. Liquids Transloading Ltd. (LTL), has been doing business with Advance Technology Innovations (ATI) and using RIMS, since 2012. We had been searching for an inventory management system for some time, but there was not a program specific to transloading.

We worked with the team at ATI, and with their extensive knowledge of programming and transloading, we were able to customize RIMS specificly to meet our needs. All the training and implementation was done remotely and due to Frank’s expertise and dedication, it was a smooth transition. ATI was and is always available to answer questions, troubleshoot or to further enhance the program whether it’s during work hours, after hours or on weekends. When we implemented the program in April 2014, we saw an immediate benefit in managing our inventory and processing our day-to-day transloading activities. After implementation, we further integrated RIMS into our accounting program. The result was a significant reduction in work load.

RIMS has become an integral part of the company, tracking all of our transloading activities and providing us with up-to-date accurate inventory. With RIMS integrated into our accounting program, we are more efficient as we are not duplicating data entry. We highly recommend RIMS.

QuickBooks interface with RIMS has reduced our invoicing to half the time we were spending trying to bill our customers. Before RIMS each PO or delivery required a hand typed Bill of Lading in a Word document. Once the material shipped we then had to enter the complete Bill of Lading into QuickBooks for invoicing to update our inventory counts. Now once an order is entered into RIMS we are able to run reports for our customers on inventory committed and inventory available.

Inventory was a nightmare. Always guessing and hoping a truck would not show up needing material we did not have in stock. Now after using RIMS software we able to give our customers real time inventory reports, helping them to know whether they can meet their customer’s needs.

Before RIMS our monthly storage billing would take a day or more to calculate the number of units billable for storage. The inventory reports were run along with the inventory activity for the month. After determining the number of billable units we then invoiced through QuickBooks.Now with RIMS we go into Work Order and Inventory Batch Processing, enter in the date for the month along with the customer’s name.RIMS provides a batch detail report of billable material along with the invoice in a minute.

Not only has our production increased but our employees are much more confident in CTD’s ability to meet our customer’s needs. We know what is in stock and no longer worry about whether we are shipping out material promised to another customer.

Truck-Rail Handling Inc. (TRH) has partnered with Advanced Technical Innovations, Inc. (ATI) to provide a multimodal logistics solution for the unique needs of our bulk transportation business. ATI’s RIMS software handles our rail-to-bulk truck transfer service. RIMS continues to provide a bridge between the operations side of the business and accounting by creating customer invoices that transfer to our accounting software. ATI has also provided TRH with customized reporting options.

ATI has been a valued partner of TRH since 2008.Whenever there is an issue, ATI is a phone call away with personalized technical support that is based in the United States. Without ATI, TRH would have difficulty meeting our information system needs for our highly-detailed, specific business. We knew we needed something to replace our current automation. Our current vendor was consistently coming up short and not responding to our needs. If we were to grow the business without significantly increase staff hour managing inventories, compiling bills and meeting our customer’s reporting requirements we knew it was time for a change. We found Railcar Inventory Management System (RIMS) from Advanced Technology Innovations (ATI). We did our due diligence and carefully assessed RIMS where our wants and needs were concerned. Two days with ATI in our offices reviewing RIMS proved to us that RIMS was built for our industry and could meet our needs.

Since implementing RIMS in 2018 we have been very pleased with the results. Recently, a class 1 Railroad came to use with a new and unusual request for billing demurrage based on spot allocation. ATI was able to add this to RIMS making it easy to track and bill this, whereas it would have been a nightmare to manage without automation.

In summary, RIMS have been very cost effective for us to implement. We get excellent results for our customers and are doing more with less effort because we have excellent automation. RIMS has provided is with a significant Return on Investment, and we are very pleased.
